2027 Chevrolet Silverado Performance, Tech & Design Changes

New V-8 Engines Added to 2027 Silverado Lineup
Chevrolet has offered V8-powered pickups for generations, beginning in 1955. Decades of engine development have contributed to the Silverado’s reputation for capability, durability and strong performance. For 2027, the truck will be available with all-new 5.7-litre and 6.6-litre V8 engines. Chevrolet has not confirmed their final output, but both are projected to produce more horsepower and torque than their predecessors.
The Silverado’s class-exclusive turbo-diesel powertrain will remain available. An enhanced TurboMax® four-cylinder engine will provide another option for drivers who prefer turbocharged gasoline performance.
Clean Sheet 2027 Silverado Design
The changes made for 2027 go beyond minor exterior adjustments. Chevrolet has reshaped several of the Silverado’s most recognizable design elements, including:
- Updated LED headlights and rear lighting
- New exhaust finishers
- A distinctive tailgate accent
- A full-width-style high-mounted brake lamp measuring approximately one metre
The passenger cabin also receives several practical additions. High Country, ZR2, Trail Boss and Z71 models can provide an expansive panoramic sunroof. Meanwhile, the available Multi-Flex Centre Console folds down to create a useful mobile workstation.
Next-Gen 2027 Silverado Technology
Drivers and passengers will find significantly more digital technology inside the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado. Some models offer more than 60 inches of combined displays. This can include an available passenger touchscreen that allows the front passenger to control compatible entertainment and information features independently.
Up to eight years of OnStar Basics are included across the lineup. Available services include:
- Connected technology and entertainment tools
- Integrated voice assistance
- Up-to-date navigation guidance
- Compatibility with numerous streaming services
